NetDot Magnetic Charging Cable
I came across this gadget while searching Amazon for something completely different. I'm sure you know what I mean. It's not just online shopping where this happens. Classic case of distraction and overbuying is the supermarket. Go in for one or two things and come out with half a trolley. Anyway, I thought it looked pretty cool but I was really thinking "this is just a gimmick, how long is it really going to last?" So, I bought it for fun.
The product I purchased was the NetDot Gen 10 Magnetic Cable 3.3 feet 3 in 1 x 3.
The pack comes with 3 sets of 1 cable and 3 tips. 1 x Micro USB, 1 x Type C and 1 x IOS.
So total of 3 cables and 9 magnetic tips.
Purchased for $25

I have been using this for quite a while now and it is actually pretty good. The cable supports fast charging and data transfer. The connector piece stops the device charging port from filling with dirt/dust and fluff. It also stops the constant plug in, unplug, plugin, unplug of a standard cable. I'm sure not having to plug and unplug the cable multiple times a day will help to prolong the device.
The only issue is that the magnet might not be quite strong enough. If moving or handling the device while charging, the cable can pop off. Maybe more of a user issue but it sometimes only takes a small bump or just holding or moving the device around. If you are planning to transfer important data, photo's or documents I would suggest making sure the device is not moved during transfer or just use the standard cable for these tasks.
Positives
This cable is great. Super easy to connect your device when you only have one hand available. Yeah, I know, you can just put what ever it is your holding down for ten seconds and use two hands to plug in your device. But hey, why waste ten seconds when you could use this cable.
Keeps dust and dirt from the charging port.
I'm sure the charging port will last longer also.
Not so Positives, Negatives or things that annoy.
Can disconnect or pop off sometimes. This can be annoying when connected to systems like Apple Car Play or Android Auto as audio or maps will need to be restarted. I note there are a few newer versions than the cable shown here. Maybe the magnets are a little stronger in the newer versions.
Cheers
Keep it real, yep you know
